White Oak Crossing is a 725,000 square foot power retail center anchored by BJ's Wholesale Club, Kohl's Department Store, Dick's Sporting Goods, Linens 'N Things, Pier 1 Imports, Rack Room Shoes, Target and Best Buy. The center is located on the corner of Interstate 40 and Highway 70 in Garner, North Carolina. 

Sells Provided Civil Engineering and Survey, Design and Construction Management Services as a member of the Design/Development Team led Paris Projects team Project Management.

Project Challenges:

The project schedule was compressed by the tenant requirements. To expedite the opening dates for BJ’s Warehouse and Kohl’s Department Store by approximately 6 months, Sells implemented a Fast Track approach to plan preparation and aggressively pursued permits.

Additionally, the cutting edge technology of Machine Control Grading was used as opposed to traditional staking and grading methods. The stakeless construction technique of Machine Control is much faster due to increased efficiency of the earth moving machines as well as providing greater control and accuracy. Sells provided the data management for 3D machine control which had a direct schedule benefit by reducing the time to grade the site.

Upon it’s completion, the entire White Oak project will encompass 330 Total Acres including Retail, Single and Multifamily Residential, a Medical Office Park, and a Continuing Care Retirement Center.
